John Andrew Macdonald was a very important person in Canadian history. He was the first prime minister of Canada, and he built the railway. Here is his biography:
John Andrew Macdonald was born on January 11th, 1815 was born to parents Helen Shaw and Hugh Macdonald. He lived a very hard life as a kid, as he saw one of his brothers die from being beaten by a crazed servant. Once John A grew up, he made sure that he made good out of his life. He had three children with wife, who soon died of Cancer. He was very fond of his daughter, because she had brain damage and couldn't walk nor talk properly. He was in office for 19 years in total, and built the Canadian railway. It was supposed to be done in 5 years, but he did it in three (he accepted bribes from people)! He was later thrown out of office because he was accepting the bribes. He drank very often, but according to others, he had it under control by the time he was sixty. The few years, he was out of office, he didn't do much(except flirting with girls), and soon he was voted back into office. He was one of two prime ministers to die in office, and he died of old age.
